Getting back to Pulmotonian, they are endowed with relatively weaker liver and spleen, in contrast to their strong naturally strong lung and large intestine. X-ray scans indicate that Pulmotonians in general are equipped with longer large intestines than those of other constitutions. As with carnivorous animals that display stronger liver and spleen and shorter large intestine as opposed to their herbivorous comrades, vegetable-centered rather than meat-centered diet is best suited to promote Pulmotonian health. Seafood in particular will serve as an excellent substitute for meat. Among the vegetables, leaf vegetable such as spinach and parsley is better for Pulmotonians than are root vegetables. Leaf vegetables protect and augment liver, and counteract the overacting of lung and large intestine, and mitigate the resulting dryness of the organs. On the contrary, nuts and root vegetables augment lung and, in the case of Pulmotonian, instigates the dreaded overreacting of lung, an already strongly positioned organ in the order of energetic ladder. Beef introduces impurity to Pulmotonian body, which in turn leads to the overlaboring of relatively weaker liver, and should be avoided accordingly.
In addition to the diet in disaccord with one’s constitution, such other factors as genetic defects, health-averse habits, stress, continued exposure to temperature too high or low, and prolonged physical strain paves road toward the emergence of chronic and recalcitrant illnesses. 8 Constitution Medicine is unlike any other medicinal system, in that it seeks to address first and foremost not the surface symptoms, but the root imbalance among organs and organ systems that has disrupted the constitutional orderliness in the patient’s body. For instance, sinusitis and Rhinitis in Pulmotonian body, illnesses that are highly resistant to the treatments devised by western medicine, are surprisingly easier to treat by the methods of 8 Constitution Medicine. This feat is made possible by the latter tradition’s comprehensive focus on relational problems encompassing all three of spleen, liver, and intestine. Whereas western medicine examines each of these organs in isolation, 8 Constitution Medicine examines the system that comprises the three organs and seeks to restore the balance among them that has gone haywire. By doing so, 8 Constitution Medicine undercuts the advancement of sinusitis which, if left alone, would damage even the central nervous system.
